Dress for Success Worldwide Closure

A Message from Michele Meyer-Shipp:
Dress for Success Worldwide West Closure

Dear friends,

I am reaching out to inform you of the closure of Dress for Success Worldwide West, our location in Los Angeles providing direct services, programming, and support to women in the community.

We are grateful for all the relationships we have built and the support we have received in Los Angeles over the past 13 years. We sincerely thank our community of local partners, volunteers, and supporters for helping us provide direct service to thousands of women during that time frame. You have been a valuable part of that journey.

The decision to close the Los Angeles location is the result of a strategic redirection of Dress for Success Worldwide, which is responsible for managing a global network of 140+ independent, local Dress for Success affiliate organizations. To meet the increasingly complex needs of the thousands of women who walk into our affiliates each and every day, the Worldwide entity is shifting its focus to provide an enhanced tier of support and services to our affiliates, who in turn, will be better equipped to meet with the needs of the women and communities they serve. This focus requires that Worldwide shift away from providing direct services, leading to the difficult decision to close Dress for Success Worldwide West.

We recognize that there is still significant need, value, and potential for a Dress for Success organization in Los Angeles. While our Worldwide presence closes, we remain open to the possibility of local leaders interested in starting up an independent Dress for Success affiliate to serve the women of Los Angeles. We also welcome your continued engagement and will continue to share news of our global efforts to support women in achieving financial independence.

For now, we extend heartfelt thanks and celebrate the role that Worldwide West played in helping countless women find jobs, grow in their professional paths, and achieve financial security.

With gratitude,
Michele C. Meyer-Shipp
